If you have such a card, please let me know, and restrict the drive geometry below 8455200768 bytes or use a vice patch)Ībove 8GiB: You generally need to both use a modern file system and patch the IDE driver, vice to a newer one supporting LBA addressing. I've tested ~15 so far, and they were a lot smaller though. Note: It is possible that '8GB' cards exist that are larger than 7,87GiB (= 8.45 GB = 8063 MB = 8455200768 bytes). If you choose to patch vice, file systems using TD64 or NSD also work, but check the table below to make sure the file system is compatible with the vice version. (I recommend PFS3 All-in-One, but PFS3 (DS) or SFS v1.84 also work). 4GB cards: You can use original vice and FFS if you want, but I recommend using a modern file system (SFS/PFS3), as it's faster, safer and more elegant (no endless validation, etc).ĨGB cards: These are smaller than 7,87GiB, so the easiest is to use original vice with a modern file system supporting direct-SCSI mode.
